Job Role: Head of Finance (Schools & Education)
Job Location: Enfield Council
Rate: £66,366 - £85,284 per annum
Working Period: Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:30
Enfield offers hybrid working arrangements; however, the post holder will be required to attend in-person meetings based on service needs.
The Head of Finance - Education and Schools reports to the Director of Finance and is the finance service lead across Education and Schools. They will be tasked with developing a high-performing team and building relationships with key senior stakeholders across the services, providing value-adding financial advice to aid decision making and ensuring value for money.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supporting the development and implementation of the Council's financial strategy.
2. Providing robust, effective, and professional challenge to ensure effective service delivery.
3. Being the finance expert for Education and Schools.
4. Leading, managing, and developing a team of finance staff, with a focus on continuous improvement.
5. Pro-actively seeking opportunities to improve the financial support provided to the Council and identifying and supporting the delivery of efficiencies in the service.
6. Preparing reports for and attending Schools Forum.
7. Providing strategic level financial advice and information to support decision making.
Minimum Requirements:
To be suitable for the role, you need to be a CCAB or CIMA qualified accountant who is an expert in education and schools finance, including a detailed knowledge of budgeting, funding, and financial modelling, with the ability to lead a team and advise and challenge senior stakeholders.
