This is a fantastic job opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing company in Telford. Our client is looking to expand its organisation and are looking for a forward-thinking HR Manager to help direct their journey to success.
The HR Manager will be responsible for aligning HR strategies with business objectives, serving as a trusted advisor to leadership. They will play a crucial role in building a high-performing workforce while ensuring compliance with UK employment laws. Key responsibilities include promoting diversity, enhancing employee engagement, and implementing effective HR policies. The role covers compliance, talent acquisition, employee relations, and developing tailored growth plans to drive leadership readiness and retain top talent. By analysing the organisation’s business plans and projected growth, the HR Manager will assess future staffing, structural, and compensation needs. They will then develop HR strategies addressing management structures, learning and development, remuneration, and overall organisational development. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth HR expertise, along with the ability to think strategically beyond daily HR operations. This role also requires strong leadership skills to initiate, drive, and implement meaningful change within the organisation.
Responsibilities and duties will include, but not limited to:
HR Strategy and Operations
* Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with company objectives.
* Advise leadership on workforce planning, organisational structure, and HR-related decisions.
* Ensure compliance with UK employment laws, standards, and health and safety regulations.
* Monitor HR metrics to drive informed decision-making and organisational effectiveness.
* Maintain accurate employee records and manage HRIS systems.
Talent Acquisition and Development
* Oversee full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding top talent.
* Identify key positions and align talent strategy with business goals.
* Implement employee development programs, leadership training, and career pathing.
Employee Relations, Engagement, and Well-being
* Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and innovative workplace culture.
* Address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and ensure fair resolution.
* Ensure compliance with UK health and safety regulations and risk mitigation strategies.
* Promote employee well-being through work-life balance and mental health initiatives.
Performance Management & Organisational Development
* Implement fair and consistent performance appraisal systems.
* Support managers in setting goals, coaching employees, and addressing underperformance.
* Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs.
* Lead change management initiatives, including restructuring and cultural transformation.
Compensation, Compliance, and Stakeholder Management
* Administer payroll, benefits, and compensation programs in collaboration with finance.
* Stay updated on employment law changes and advise management on compliance.
* Build and maintain relationships with employees, leadership, regulators, and key stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
* Minimum five years of experience in a senior HR role, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Extensive knowledge of UK employment laws, workplace safety, and compliance.
* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
* Proficiency in HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Experience in change management and organisational development.
* CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
