Let us introduce you to Annie:
Annie lives in her own flat in Edinburgh and is supported to live independently. She enjoys watching various sports on TV including tennis, athletics, and rugby. She also enjoys going to Edinburgh and Scotland home rugby games with her stepdad. Annie regularly visits the local library to get both printed and audio books and frequently enjoys visits to the nearby Sainsbury’s for shopping!
Annie is a lovely young woman who loves spending time with her PAs, enjoys chatting, and has a wicked sense of humour. She would like her staff to have a good sense of humour as well.
Annie likes watching the news, movies, and a variety of programmes, particularly on Netflix and Disney, and she enjoys discussing them. Christmas is her favourite time of the year as she loves the atmosphere and Christmas movies, which she tries to resist watching from September but usually fails. Music, especially pop and rock, is also a particular interest of hers, and she enjoys watching music videos on her TV or computer.
Annie needs a dedicated team around her who are compassionate, person-centred, and who will respect her wishes. She would like a team who enjoys supporting her in these interests and can help her feel happy and safe while enabling her to live her best life! If this is you, we would love to hear from you.
Are you interested in working for an award-winning social care charity?
Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants, but we can guarantee that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as a Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling, or positive behavioural support while expanding their social networks and connections.
ENABLE creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and aspirations of the people we support are met.
The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and share many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities. A career with Enable is as rewarding as it is diverse; Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.
If you think you share the same interests and have the commitment, dedication, and above all, desire to support Annie to get the most out of life, then please apply now! Enable needs you and your values to help us create an equal society for every person who has a learning disability. You don't need experience in care to start your social care career with Enable. We recruit people based on their values and transferable skills. Wherever your journey has taken you up until now, join us, and together we will forge a new path in what could potentially be the most rewarding role you have ever had!
