About the Role We’re looking for a friendly, detail-focused and people-oriented People Services Assistant to join our inclusive and collaborative team on a fixed term contract for 6 months. In this key support role, you’ll help deliver a first-class employee and candidate experience. From handling HR queries and recruitment admin, to onboarding new colleagues and keeping our systems in check — you’ll be at the heart of our People Team’s success. Key Responsibilities Act as the first point of contact for HR and recruitment queries Manage shared inboxes and maintain data in HR and ATS systems Draft contracts, offer letters, and process onboarding documentation Processing amendment letters for internal moves and secondment opportunities Support job posting, interview coordination and application pre-screens Liaise with hiring managers on onboarding progress and compliance, including DBS checks Help plan and deliver recruitment events, careers fairs and outreach activity Ensure all employee records and paperwork meet compliance standards Collaborate across teams (HR, Payroll, IT, Marketing, Facilities and more) Promote equality, diversity and inclusion throughout all processes What We’re Looking For Essential Skills & Experience: Previous experience in administration, ideally involving HR or recruitment Excellent attention to detail and written communication A strong customer service mindset — helpful, friendly and solution-focused Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organised under pressure Confident using Microsoft Office and HR or recruitment systems A team player who’s not afraid to ask questions or jump in to help Knowledge of confidentiality, GDPR, and basic HR procedures A driving license and access to a vehicle for travel to other sites Desirable: CIPD Level 3 (or working towards it) or similar HR/recruitment qualification Experience using an ATS or HR Information System Knowledge of employment law relating to recruitment and onboarding Experience in the housing, care, or public sector What You’ll Get in Return A warm, welcoming team and supportive working environment Opportunities for professional growth and development Flexible working options where possible A chance to truly make a difference in people’s lives An organisation committed to equality, diversity and inclusion We’re an Inclusive Employer We welcome applications from everyone, regardless of age, disability, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion or belief, marital status or pregnancy/maternity status.
