DUTIES:
1. Health assessment, medical treatment, and health counseling of students.
2. Medication administration.
3. Development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of individualized medication administration care plans and individualized health care plans.
4. Collaboration with other health care providers and school personnel regarding the health of students.
5. Providing emergency care to any individual in the case of injury or sudden illness.
6. Performing and/or overseeing all Massachusetts Department of Public Health mandated health screenings or activities.
7. Maintaining comprehensive school health records including electronic records.
8. Prevention and control of communicable diseases within the schools.
9. Staffing immunization clinics and other public health-related duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid license to practice as a Registered (preferred) or Licensed Practical Nurse in Massachusetts.
2. Associates, Bachelor, or Master's degree in Nursing.
3. A minimum of two full years of employment as a registered nurse in child health, community health, or another relevant clinical nursing setting preferred.
4. DESE Licensure as Professional Support Personnel Preferred.
5. CPR and AED certified.
