Job Title: Assistant Poultry Farm Manager Location: Kent Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 Accommodation Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Hours: 37.5 hours per week half-day weekend work Travel: Required for multiple sites Role Overview: A well-established poultry farm is seeking a dedicated Assistant Poultry Farm Manager to support daily farm operations, ensuring high standards of animal welfare, productivity, and compliance with industry regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in poultry or animal husbandry looking to take the next step in their career. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the daily care, feeding, and monitoring of poultry, ensuring optimal health and welfare standards. Implement and maintain strict biosecurity measures in line with industry regulations. Monitor bird performance, feed consumption, and health, maintaining accurate records. Conduct regular inspections, ensuring all buildings, equipment, and systems are in working order. Support the recruitment, training, and scheduling of farm staff, ensuring efficient team performance. Manage relationships with feed suppliers, veterinarians, and equipment providers. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all farm operations. Analyze farm data to identify areas for improvement and implement efficiency measures. Key Requirements: Minimum 3 years of experience in poultry farming or animal husbandry. Strong knowledge of poultry welfare, breeding, and farm management best practices. Familiarity with biosecurity, health & safety regulations, and industry standards. Ability to manage farm operations, including staff coordination and scheduling. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Competence in farm management software and Microsoft Office. Physically fit to handle farm tasks, including lifting and working in various weather conditions.
