Job Description:

Within this role you will have the confidence to make key, evidence-based design decisions and present reasonings to the senior management team and external stakeholders. There will be an opportunity to work with key stakeholders and senior team members on a wide range of projects across the business.
You will also have the ability and confidence to challenge others within the design team and offer solutions to engineering problems through your technical skills and understanding and make decisions to be agreed with senior members of the team.
Main Responsibilities:
* Experience in drawing production in accordance with standard procedures and quality of outputs.
* Provide technical leadership in at least one of the key core skills of the business.
* Plan and manage project team resources and adapt resource plans to clients’ programmes to achieve deadlines.
* Check drawings and calculations prepared by colleagues to improve the quality of deliverables.
* Undertake calculations and designs using an efficient and rationalised process to the latest design standards and, where applicable, using relevant design software in your chosen field of expertise.
* Show leadership with changes in legislation, codes of practice, design codes, and proprietary suppliers and present summaries of changes and implement them across the national teams.
Person Specification & Experience:
You will have previous experience in the design of roads & sewers across a variety of sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, energy, education, and healthcare. You will also ideally have previous experience in the production and preparation of reports and documents relevant to your chosen field of expertise and the ability to lead without the direction of senior colleagues, including Flood Risk Assessments, Operation and Maintenance Manuals, and Drainage Strategy Reports.
You will be a strong communicator with exceptional listening and communication skills, with a strong ability to work efficiently as part of a team and individually. Experience in the use of Microsoft products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint would be essential.
Job type: Permanent (Full time)
Full UK driving licence will be required for this role.
