Job Description:
The Position
As a member of the Engineering team, you will report to an Associate Director. You will be responsible for leading and maintaining a range of projects and/or providing specialist knowledge to other projects/teams. Using industry benchmarks and internal standards, you will ensure the timely delivery of considered and accurate project information and act as a point of contact between the company and clients/collaborators. You will also lead and co-ordinate the internal efforts of junior staff, providing appropriate frameworks and tools, agreeing appropriate standards, and coordinating delivery against these standards.

3. Committed to the development of high-quality, high-performance, and sustainable buildings via appropriate technical standards, costs, and programme
4. Deliver technical solutions in accordance with client brief
5. Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of other disciplines
6. Organise junior staff and CAD staff to achieve engineered solutions within agreed time scales
7. Maintain project overview: explain the status of the relevant section of a project at any time
8. Be aware of both the company’s agreement and the contractual relationships on the project
9. Report any feedback or issues concerning the project
10. Liaise with client, architect, and other members of the design team with clarity and confidence
11. Foster positive relationships with clients and other members of the design team
12. Appreciate and assist in the need to generate business
13. Support and nurture junior/graduate engineers

Qualifications and skills
1. Relevant professional qualifications
2. Proven track record of successfully co-ordinating and delivering projects within the public and private sector
3. Experience in understanding and dealing with contractual procedures
4. Solid experience in mechanical design
5. Proven track record of engaging and negotiating with senior management and peers on projects
6. Proven track record of engaging with and influencing peers outside of formal management relationships
7. Proven track record of a commitment to and effective implementation of consistent standards and metrics
8. Practical knowledge of managing small project teams coupled with the understanding to select frameworks/tools that are appropriate to particular circumstances
9. Ability to work with minimal supervision
10. Ability to prioritise and to think strategically about the timing and way of delivering project information
11. Strong writing skills for producing written reports
12. Effective IT skills for producing material
