Early Years Teaching Assistant - Newham

Salary: £90 to £100 per day (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant in Newham, you will:
Morning Support: Provide personalised support to students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, including ADHD and self-harming behaviours.
Inclusive Learning: Use your skills to foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom for students of all backgrounds and abilities.
Nappy Changing: Assist with nappy changing, offering compassionate care for young children as needed.
Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement targeted support plans and interventions that meet each child’s unique needs.
Afternoon Flexibility: Provide crucial support across Key Stages 1 and 2 as required, helping with various age groups and developmental stages.
Positive Relationships: Develop strong, positive relationships with students, supporting their holistic development and promoting confidence.

Requirements for the Early Years Teaching Assistant Role
Experience: Previous experience as a Nursery or Early Years Teaching Assistant, or in a similar educational support role, is preferred.
Proactivity and Resilience: A proactive, resilient individual who can maintain high standards and help pupils reach their potential.
Expertise: Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN), safeguarding, and child protection practices.
Versatility: Willingness and ability to support with nappy changing and to meet individual special educational needs.

Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effectively engaging with children and colleagues.
