Job Title: Fire and Security Engineer
Location: Glasgow and Surrounding Areas
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (Depending on experience, not how good you are at making tea)
Our client, a well-established fire and security company in Glasgow, is on the lookout for a Fire and Security Engineer. It's a rare opportunity to spend your days surrounded by beeping alarms, blinking lights, and wiring diagrams instead of spreadsheets and pointless meetings. You'll be part of a team that actually solves problems rather than creates them.
The Job (It's More Than Just Switching Things Off and On Again):
80% Install, 20% Magic: You'll install, maintain, and commission fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems.
Diagnose & Fix: Identifying and repairing faults before anyone even realises there was a problem. You'll probably end up being called a genius, but you won't let it go to your head.
Client Whisperer: Communicating technical stuff in a way that humans understand-no jargon required (unless you enjoy blank stares).
Stay Calm, Stay Safe: Ensuring compliance with industry standards while keeping a cool head, even when things get "interesting.
What We're Looking For (Apart From a Pulse):
Experience: You've worked with fire and security systems. Whether it's taming rogue alarms or setting up CCTV systems, you know your stuff.
Technical Skills: If you can wire it, program it, and explain it, you're in.
Problem Solver: You enjoy a challenge and can think on your feet without panicking-or crying.
Full Driving Licence: Because sadly, we're not quite at the self-driving van stage.
What's In It For You?
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
Van + Tools
Paid Travel: No more watching the fuel gauge with dread.
Performance Bonuses: Yes, they actually reward you for doing a great job.
20 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
Progression Opportunities: If you're good, there's room to grow. If you're brilliant, there's room to lead.
Qualifications (The Stuff That Looks Good on Paper):
Relevant fire and security engineering qualifications (or equivalent).
CSCS/ECS card preferred (they like professionals).
FIA Units 1 & 5 are a bonus, but we'll still talk to you if you haven't got them yet.
Full UK Driving Licence - because, again, no teleportation… yet.
Fancy Titles You Might Already Use:
Fire Whisperer, Security Guru, CCTV Maestro, Alarm Ninja... or just The Engineer Who Actually Knows What They're Doing.
Think you've got what it takes? Send us your CV. Or, if you know someone who fits the bill, refer them. We'll reward you, and they'll probably buy you a pint. Probably.
