Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, the Engineering Site Services Manager will provide factory services, process, and utilities support to the Engineering Team on a large process and manufacturing site.
You will lead the maintenance, reactive breakdowns, fault finding, and continuously improve plant performance, quality, and safety across the site.
You will ensure the continued delivery of manufacturing service levels through both reactive and preventative maintenance schedules. You will be a strong hands-on people manager leading a team of 10 plus contractors, ideally with a wealth of knowledge in Site Services within a manufacturing environment.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Responsibility for the efficient operation of the utilities and site services equipment, ensuring efficient use of energy and resources to meet legal obligations and KPI targets.
2. Manage site contracts for services, ensuring high quality service and competitive budget management.
3. Take responsibility & ownership for delivering a high-quality coordination of site services and facilities in support of the achievement of goals and targets.
4. Effective asset care of the site services plant and equipment.
5. Ensure Legal & Statutory Compliance.
6. Manage suppliers for efficient site stores inventory management.
7. Provide engineering expertise to assigned areas (e.g., effluent plant, engineering stores, process, and services in a leadership role).
8. Supervise and coordinate the activities of technicians and contractors.
9. Supervise and coordinate the activities of the waste recycling team.
10. Liaise with and manage contractors, including external contract management and audits.
11. Lead Site Energy Sustainability and Site Energy Management on and off site.
12. Reduce energy costs & develop energy monitoring systems.
13. Owner of site risk assessment and insurance actions.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Demonstrate a sound capability of technical understanding of site services, effluent, Legionella, HVAC, air, boilers, steam, water etc.
2. Experience of working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment and previous experience in an Engineering Site Services role.
3. Formal engineering qualification to at least an HNC/HND standard.
4. Experience of maintenance and facilities management, including management of a technical team.
5. Proven ability to work in partnership with management teams.
6. Able to read and interpret site plans and drawings/layouts and contribute to discussions around site development and changes.
7. Experience of carrying out a similar role within a manufacturing, production, or automated environment.
8. Knowledge and experience of compliance systems e.g., LOLER.
9. Experience in leading and developing a team.
