AUTOMATION XL LIMITED is a specialist division within the XL Global Group, a Multi-Discipline Engineering business with an established oil & energy client base.
Based out of XL HOUSE, BLACKBURN BUSINESS PARK, the organisation comprises specialist divisions for Electrical, Automation, Metering, Robotics and Turn-key project delivery.
Role Description
This is a full-time role as a Systems Engineer in Robot systems at Automation XL Ltd located in Aberdeen.
The successful candidate will, if requested, have the opportunity to support work scopes across all of our Engineering divisions as part of our internal staff development efforts.
Responsibilities
* Provide seamless systems engineering across various XL Group streams and develop systems within the group project delivery work-fronts throughout their life cycle from concept through to completions.
* Support the business project delivery in implementing new systems software to analyse data to improve existing assets.
* Have a sound knowledge of current regulatory requirements and associated industry standards.
* Demonstrate the ability to deliver work-fronts utilising the business processes and procedures, strong communication skills and performance throughout ensuring a high standard of quality is maintained.
* Liaise with all Automation XL staff and customers to ensure seamless service delivery, performing engineering & service support to our customer base and group of companies.
* Maintain and update all associated engineering documentation.
* Provide engineering services, tendering and sales support including the identification of customer's requirements, new enquiries, quotes and input into commercial management of projects.
* Liaise with the customer base of the company and effectively communicate with them on a regular basis, answering any queries that arise in a timely manner.
* Build relationships with all the key customers on the phone and where necessary in person.
* Look at innovation of products with management and take new product offerings from the idea to fruition with our customer base.
* Interface with outside vendors for equipment and consumables required for project delivery.
* Work with engineering software and act as a focal point for technical queries and software updates.
* Ensure all service-related quality control procedures and processes are followed.
* Liaise with the general manager on a day-to-day basis to ensure quality and service delivery is being maintained.
The candidate must possess the following skills to be considered for this role:
* Experience of panel wiring and building panels from scratch.
* Be able to read and work from schematics and general engineering drawings.
* Have an electrical qualification – IEC / COMPEX.
* Experience in LV switchgear.
* Knowledge and experience of ATEX equipment.
Qualifications
* Valid certification as an Electrician.
* Experience in electrical installations and panel building.
* Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and circuits.
* Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
* Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
