This temporary role will ensure the seamless integration of DSDM (Dynamic System Development Method) governance and Scrum practices, fostering collaboration and driving the success of our Agile projects. Operationally based in Electric Works in the centre of Sheffield, we also have a research base in the Catalyst Building, at Newcastle University. Job Title: Scrum Master with DSDM knowledge Office Location: Electric Works, Sheffield Digital Campus, Sheffield S1 2BJ N.B. Staff can either work from the office or apply for hybrid working, an option which provides the opportunity to work from home (subject to a successful hybrid working application, if successful you will be required to attend the office for meetings as required). Salary range: FTE £45-£55,000 Hours: Up to 24 hours per week (working days/hours are negotiable). The standard office hours are 0845 1715 (with 30 min lunch) Mon-Fri Post: Part-time Maternity Cover Commencement Date: Negotiable, ideally the candidate would commence employment in January to enable a handover period prior to Maternity Leave, subject to subject to satisfactory references and checks Main Purpose of Job: As the DSDM and Scrum Master, you will act as the champion for Agile practices, combining the structured governance of DSDM with the flexibility of Scrum. You will guide the team, stakeholders (including external customers), and organization in aligning business goals with iterative delivery while maintaining a strong focus on value-driven development. This role requires someone who can balance strategic oversight with hands-on facilitation to ensure project success. Main Roles and Responsibilities Engage with stakeholders across the business to align expectations, manage risks, and communicate progress. Act as a liaison between the development team and senior leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment and ensure value for money. Lead the implementation of SCRUM principles and complementary DSDM governance, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and business priorities. Ensure our SCRUM development team are supported to develop their action plans, which are monitored, with progress reported on at regular intervals. Facilitate the overview of Company projects, to ensure obstacles and dependencies are visible and support effective resource planning, reporting on project progress as required to the Executive team. Support team progress, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and self-organization. Communicate effectively between the development team and the Executive team to enable to successful achievement of quarterly objectives. You will be responsible for : No line managing responsibilities are included with this role Person Specification: Essential Proven experience as a DSDM Lead, Scrum Master/Project Manager, or a similar Agile delivery role. Deep understanding of both DSDM (Dynamic Systems Development Method) and Scrum frameworks. Strong facilitation and coaching skills, with the ability to balance governance with Agile flexibility. Experience in SMEs or similar environments, with an understanding of resource and budget constraints. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Have demonstrable experience of the use of core business analysis tools and techniques including workshop facilitation, risk and impact analysis, process mapping, requirements gathering and provision of documentation Have a proven track record of effecting change across an organisation Have a high standard of written English with accurate use of grammar Can demonstrate strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyse large amounts of data with accuracy Can demonstrate excellent attention to detail Be able to produce clear and formal documentation and reports, which are fit for purpose Be able to lead projects from concept to completion Desirable Have previous experience of working to deliver Software as a Service Have previous experience of working with an SME and supporting change and delivery of outcomes in a small business Have demonstrable experience of designing and modifying processes or systems to deliver service improvements Familiarity with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Confluence) is a plus Desirable Qualifications Be educated to graduate level or can demonstrate significant relevant experience DSDM Practitioner certification or extensive experience with DSDM governance or SCRUM qualification.
