Interim Finance Manager – Financial Services

Pay Rate: £33.18 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, 9am to 4.20pm
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 2-3 months
City: Crewe, Cheshire
The successful candidate will advise service directors and elected members plus managing a team to deliver financial support to the children and families directorate (incl children's social care and home to school transport) and manage the accounting arrangements for the dedicated school’s grant. The post is part of the finance leadership team who manage the overall finance service.
Qualifications:
Professional accounting qualification, CIPFA qualification or CCAB equivalent etc.
Degree, or equivalent, level qualification in a relevant field.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Experience of local government finance or equivalent.
Proven track record of conscientious application and technical reliability.
Proven track record of conscientious application, reliability and concern for quality performance.
Proven successful track record in financial and staff management.
Extensive working knowledge and detailed understanding of Council financial practices and procedures, or equivalent.
Ability to analyse and present financial data, statistics and trends in a meaningful way.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
