Job Title: Floating Housing Support Officer
Job Type: Temporary - only 4-6 weeks
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Industry: Social Care - Homelessness and Substance Misuse
In this Floating Housing Support Officer opportunity in Stoke-on-Trent, you will join a community drug and alcohol service to provide outreach support to a small caseload of service users. As this is a floating support position you will need to be a car driver to meet clients across the Stoke-on-Trent area.
Key responsibilities
In this Floating Housing Support Officer job, your responsibilities will include:
1. To provide dedicated housing support to keep service users within their tenancies and improve long term recovery outcomes.
2. As well as housing knowledge, floating support workers will have specialist knowledge around drug and alcohol issues and provide support to people in their homes to improve their engagement in treatment services.
3. To utilise case managements skills to provide coordination of interventions and activities to empower the recovery of individuals accessing services.
4. Deliver activities and interventions which may be alongside peers in line with personal budgets.
5. To work collaboratively with external partner agencies to provide support to Service Users that meets their needs through all stages of their individual recovery journey
6. To carry out duties in line with organisational policies and procedures
Skills & experience of a Floating Housing Support Officer
7. Proven track record of working In a homeless service or substance misuse before - dealt with a caseload and support sessions
8. Holds an enhanced DBS child and adult cleared - Issued In the last 12 months or on the update service
9. Available to work on a temporary basis 4-6 weeks
