Job Description: VioVet, one of the UK’s largest veterinary supplies retailers and a subsidiary of Pinnacle Pet Group, is looking to employ a Head of Financial Accounting & Reporting to join their Finance function. This exciting opportunity is for an experienced finance professional to take on the role of the Head of the Financial Accounting and Reporting, reporting into the Chief Financial Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leads the timely and accurate preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly management accounts for management and for group reporting.
* Leads the month-end close process, ensures appropriate plans are in place to meet reporting deadlines and coordinates with various stakeholders.
* Plans and executes accurate and timely preparation of the annual financial statements for the business including managing the external audit processes.
* Leads the forecasting, budgeting and strategic planning process around income, costs, balance sheet and cash flow accounting.
* Leads on tax matters including VAT compliance and filing.
* Manages the Finance team to meet all reporting requirements.
* Ensures compliance with UK accounting standards.
* Undertakes core finance operations including transactional processing, ledger maintenance, reporting, compliance etc.
* Develops and maintains sound accounting processes and controls.
* Drives continuous improvement and standardisation of processes and controls.
* Supports strategic internal projects to support the company’s growth strategies.
* Builds relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Successful Candidates Will Have:
* A qualified accountant with at least 5 years post qualification experience.
* Good accounting knowledge and strong in IFRS and UK GAAP.
* Demonstrable technical and professional experience in a similar level role.
* Strong integrity, with a high sense of independence and accountability.
* Superior attention to detail and organisational skills, able to meet deadlines efficiently.
* Strong people management skills and the ability to develop team members.
* Strong stakeholder and project management skills.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Passionate and results driven with a high sense of pride in delivering a high service to stakeholders.
* Experience of playing similar roles in the retail industry will be an advantage.
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
