1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant in SEMH Provision, with experience in managing challenging behaviour
Location: Chelmsford
Salary: £89.50 - £100 Per day
Job Duties:
Provide 1:1 support to a student with Special Educational Needs and Social emotional mental health needs in a specialist provision.
Implement individualised education plans and behaviour management strategies
Assist in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Support students in developing social skills and emotional regulation
Manage challenging behaviour effectively and de-escalate situations when necessary
Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure the holistic development of students
Required Qualifications:
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
Knowledge of SEND Code of Practise and safeguarding procedures
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting
Understanding of SEMH needs and effective strategies to support students
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to challenging situations
Working Conditions:
Work primarily within a school setting, 8.30am - 3.30pm Monday-Friday
