Callerton Academy is an exciting and thriving new secondary school where staff are highly valued and invested in to be able to become exceptional practitioners. Being part of our growing school and supportive science department is ideal for candidates embarking in their first years of teaching as an ECT or for candidates who are looking to take on responsibility in the coming years.
As a school we are committed to providing the very best education for pupils from Year 7 to Year 11. For the first four years, we have been based in our excellent temporary site in Newcastle’s Graingertown. In September 2025, we will move to our brand-new site which will have capacity for 1200 students; this is located to the northwest of the city. For this Teacher of Science position, first and foremost, we are looking for someone who loves science. We are developing a strong team of practitioners at Callerton Academy who can be versatile and are keen to be involved in many and varied aspects of school life; particularly during the coming years while the school is growing. You will be an important part of our growing school and will be, a consummate professional, practical and ‘hands-on’.
