We are looking for a part qualified accountant/QBE to join our team in Shrewsbury or Birmingham to assist with the financial reporting and data analysis for our Living Sector and PRS client portfolio. As the post holder, you will manage the reporting and accounting for a portfolio of clients as well as taking on one-off projects.
The post holder will be part of a team of 17 professionals with a range of specialisms and extensive experience. We are a multi-service office, supporting our rural, planning, and minerals requirements for our clients across the region.

Main tasks:
* Preparation of monthly, quarterly & annual financial reports.
* Preparation of advanced data analysis reports.
* Preparation of quarterly and annual accounts for external auditors, liaising with them and providing additional information and explanations as required.
* Handling monthly CIS returns for relevant clients. Advising/instructing other team members on the CIS process and ensuring the process is followed before new suppliers are added to the system.
* Overseeing the daily management of tenants’ accounts starting with the holding deposit and following the process through to the monthly rent collection. Liaising with the property manager on arrears.
* Overseeing the coding of invoices against budgets and the accuracy of data input on to TRAMPS.
* Liaising with surveyors and clients over the preparation of cash flows, budgets, and reconciliation thereof.
* Dealing with all aspects of VAT as it relates to our clients.
* Onboarding of new clients onto the various systems, documenting processes, and ensuring reporting requirements are met.
* Day-to-day management of our clients including updating bank mandates, changes in ownership, ad hoc reporting, and queries.
What will it take to be successful?
You will be an accountant, either part qualified or qualified by experience, with a strong financial accounting background and CIS experience. You must possess an exceptional eye for detail and the confidence to speak with clients during meetings, leading discussions on financial matters. You should be able to present your viewpoints effectively while tactfully questioning client decisions. Meeting deadlines is critical, and data accuracy along with KPI achievement is essential. You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, making informed decisions that consider all parties and factors involved. Knowledge of TRAMPS property management software would be advantageous.
