The Medical Director will have a background in General Practice, Community Medicine, Medicine, or similar experience of pre-hospital emergency care or out of hospital care.
They will provide strategic medical and leadership advice to the senior team.
They will lead and develop clinical effectiveness and new models of care within the team.

The Medical Director will work closely with the Head of Clinical to ensure that we operate an effective system of clinical governance and continuous quality improvement, focused on driving the delivery of safe, effective and continually improving care.

Job responsibilities
The Medical Director will be accountable for the following:
* Advise the Senior Team and staff on all clinical matters
* Act as the Trust's Caldecott Guardian
* Act as the Trust's Controlled Drugs Accountable Officer
* Act as the Named Doctor for Safeguarding
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to promote joint working.
* Ensure the Senior Team has an appropriate medicines management strategy that maximises cost-effective prescribing.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration and licence to practise
* Inclusion on the specialist register for this purpose.
* Membership/Fellowship of a Royal College
Experience
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Experience of medical leadership
* Clear understanding of pre-hospital care systems and developments
