About your team
The GPS CIO Team is responsible for the development of the overall investment product proposition for trustees and members of defined contribution schemes as well as Fidelity's retail customers.
About your role
The role holder will contribute to the strategic development of the GPS business to ensure continued business growth, profitability and focus on sustainability linked investment themes. Also provide input into the definition, development and maintenance of Fidelity's DC and retail Investment Product and Proposition.
This will involve managing relationships with key stakeholders to help establish the strategic direction for the proposition based on detailed client, market and competitor insights and acting as the customer voice into service design and digital innovation.
Support platform investment proposition strategy:
1. Work closely with commercial, investment, client and operational teams to support (and lead where required) the development of the house default investment strategy.
2. Identify key competitors, their market positioning and proposition across sustainability and investment aspects.
3. Identify options for platform investment proposition positioning including product definition, target market and key features.
4. Work with the fund partner management team in assessing new fund partner opportunities.
5. Keeping abreast of EU and UK pensions regulations relating to investment funds.
6. Establish an internal network to get input to strategic objectives and identify potential proposition developments or enhancements and new products.
7. Provide input to communication and client teams to ensure effective communication of the investment proposition to clients and members.
Support the investment-related strategy development and relationship with the Master Trust and IGC:
1. Support the development of the Master Trust investment offering (in accumulation and decumulation).
2. Support the ongoing relationship with the Investment Sub-Committee (ISC) and MT and IGC on investment-related matters.
3. Support the Master Trust's policies and approaches on strategic matters e.g. sustainable investing and TCFD reporting.
4. Support the relationship and involvement of the Master Trust independent advisor.
5. Support and lead meetings as and where required with the Master Trust, IGC and ISC on related matters.
Provide investment product and proposition management support to projects:
1. Provide support in development of the GPS platform operating model.
2. Create and maintain cost-benefit analysis and benefit realisation strategy.
3. Monitor and manage project priorities for the investment product line.
4. Sponsor a portfolio of smaller projects (provide day-to-day sponsorship) and provide support to the Head of the GPS CIO Team in maintaining the overall project portfolio.
5. Provide input to detailed requirements for GPS platform investment proposition development.
6. Liaise with 3rd party providers on the design and development of their offerings for Fidelity.
7. Measure profitability of proposition against targets.
8. Manage compliance of investment proposition.
Align platform investment proposition with customer need:
1. Review customer feedback.
Roll-out platform investment proposition developments:
1. Implement roll-out strategy including internal and external marketing plans.
2. Maintain and update product specifications.
3. Monitor benefit realisation.
About you
You will have gained extensive experience of investment proposition development and product management in DC pensions and ideally retail platforms. You will have a good understanding of sustainability practices and approaches across pensions, platforms and asset management. In addition, you would need to be comfortable with investment principles, customer needs and the corporate adviser markets across UK and Europe. You should be confident and self-starting with the ability to prioritise effectively. Investment related qualifications are desirable (i.e., IMC, CFA).
Key Skills:
1. Experience within the following areas; proposition, investment consulting or fund management.
2. A detailed understanding of one or more of the following; investment products, fund structures, private assets, sustainable investing, pooling vehicles.
3. Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the medium to long term savings market in terms of customer needs, distribution and providers.
4. An understanding of the commercial drivers for pensions and retail business.
5. Outstanding influencing skills and comfortable operating at the most senior level in the organisation.
6. Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills.
7. Good understanding of Sustainable Investing landscape, regulations and impact on investment products.
