A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Gloucestershire with a dedicated resource base. The resource base is staffed by a lead teacher and a team of specially trained teaching assistants, ensuring a low pupil-to-adult ratio to meet the individual needs of each child.
The Role
As an HLTA in the resource base, you will play a key role in supporting students to achieve their individual developmental targets. This will include one-to-one work as well as supporting small groups of students. You will assist with planning and resourcing activities and occasionally lead whole-class sessions when required. This role offers an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with Autism while working as part of a supportive and dedicated team.
Main Responsibilities
* Work collaboratively under the guidance of the lead teacher.
* Provide targeted support to students with Autism, helping them progress towards their individual goals.
* Assist in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging resources and activities.
* Lead whole-class sessions when requested.
Essential Criteria/Skills
* HLTA qualification.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
* Previous experience working with children with Autism.
Desirable Criteria
* Access to a car and a valid driving license.
* Experience working in a specialist setting.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo checks including reference checks and TRA checks. Applicants who do not have a non-voluntary enhanced DBS on the update service, will need to process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work and the DBS has been registered on the update service.
