We are looking for a dynamic and skilled Procurement Manager / Category Manager to join our team, responsible for leading category strategy development, execution, and sourcing activities across designated supply categories. This role requires strategic collaboration with key stakeholders across client operations to define business needs and implement robust procurement strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Category Strategy & Sourcing: Lead category strategy development and sourcing activities within designated supply categories.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with client operations teams, aligning on business needs and procurement strategies.
Performance Measurement: Establish and maintain KPIs to track supplier performance and annual savings within the category or sub-division.
Supplier Data Analysis: Collate and analyse supplier performance data to support the Supplier Management Framework.
System Support: Facilitate and enhance the use of the Coupa P2P system for improved procurement processes.
Bid & Mobilisation Support: Assist in new client bids, mobilisation efforts, and integration of acquisitions.
Project Pipeline Management: Oversee project benefits, maintaining reports and forecasts within the Provalido savings tracker.
Contract Management: Monitor the contract renewal pipeline, managing the contract database, and administrating Master Framework Agreements.
Risk & Compliance: Track supplier compliance, financial stability, and support ethical sourcing initiatives aligned with modern slavery and ESG requirements.
Cost Optimisation: Identify and deliver cost-saving initiatives, volume discounts, and continuous improvement opportunities.
Collaboration: Partner closely with the Procurement team to drive supply chain performance and value.

Value for Money: Deliver best value on category spend, achieving set savings and continuous improvement targets.
Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal stakeholders to optimise supply chain performance.
Supplier Management: Robustly manage key supplier relationships, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and joint value creation.
Reputation: Enhance Mitie's reputation as a customer of choice, building supplier partnerships to unlock mutual benefits and enhance performance.
About You
Candidates should be educated to degree level or possess equivalent professional experience and qualifications relevant to the role.
Ideal applicants will have proven experience in category management within a complex, fast-paced environment, along with a robust background in commercial procurement.
Demonstrable success in negotiating and delivering strategic value within a category is essential. Experience in multi-site operations and the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders is highly valued.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and P2P systems is required. While not essential, an MCIPS qualification would be a desirable asset.
The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across teams. They should be comfortable working in a team setting, with the ability to take the lead on specific subject areas as needed. An analytical mindset, coupled with a proactive approach to cost optimisation and continuous performance improvement, will be key to succeeding in this role.
