About the job Job summary DIO provides the infrastructure which supports the ability for this countrys Defence operation to live, work, and train in the UK and abroad. Our teams play a key role in delivering the UKs Defence objectives and are responsible for a land mass which represents 2% of the entire UK. Our estate is incredibly complex but highly interesting, and for the right candidate whos interested in empowering a Commercial team to deliver great supply chains to deliver across the Estate this would be a fantastic role. Our commercial teams manage 300 contracts at any one time with a total value of £25bn. This huge scale means that we link closely into MOD and Government commercial networks and best practice via the GCO. Job description Key to DIOs ability to deliver is the Enabling Services team, which supports a wide range of stakeholders made up from across the DIO Directorates. Person specification The successful candidate will: Be leading a team of commercial officers in delivering a high-quality commercial service for a high volume, low-value and low-complexity portfolio of requirements for various DIO Internal Customers. Maintaining a pipeline of commercial activity and delivering value-for-money solutions in a timely and effective manner. Undertake Contract Management activities in line with the relevant contract tiering classification to support the project team in achieving high-quality outputs for their requirements. Keeping track of all benefits achieved, cashable, non-cashable, and non-financial and completing all reporting requirements in line with business time frames, e/g/, KPI reporting and pipeline publications. Coach and develop a team of commercial colleagues upskilling their commercial, leadership and acumen adding value to DIO commercial and the wider teams. Be a point of contact for the customer interface into the Commercial department with a focus on improvement to delivery, risk management, problem-solving and engagement to ensure that the customer requirements are met, providing expert commercial advice. Develop senior customer relationships and influence business strategies. Contribute to the quarterly update provided to ExCo/Board, with an overview of resilience across key sectors and supply chains. Engage with stakeholders to understand their motivations and behaviours to influence decision-making. Provide information to the customer to keep them informed regarding markets and supply chains, including Government-led activities.
