JOB PURPOSE:
Within the CMCO Function, UARM reports into Global Marketing Services. UARM reports into the Global Digital Asset Management team, but a dotted line exists to a number of other functions and departments, including but not limited to Corporate Legal/Company Secretariat, ETS workplace services, and Global Marketing teams.
UARM curates and collects Unilever’s history, ensures compliance with Unilever’s Data Retention Standard, and connects the business with its amazing history. Based in Port Sunlight, the team is a mix of professional and administrative staff.
UARM holds extensive digital content of long-term value to Unilever, allowing us to continue to add to our internationally significant archive collections. It is our ambition to connect with more systems in Unilever to preserve digital content of long-term value and create a complete digital archive that supports future exploration and understanding of Unilever and its brands. RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supporting the Global Head of UARM with advocacy, strategy, and policy development relating to Digital Preservation.
2. Lead on ingest of born digital and digitised content and ingest workflows and processes for data from Unilever systems such as SharePoint.
3. Oversee and manage the digitisation and migration of Audio Visual material.
4. Lead the day-to-day operations of our Digital Archive System – Preservica.
5. Lead contact with vendor.
6. Systems review - upgrades and updates/test plans and team cascades.
7. Create and maintain manuals and training for UARM team.
8. Conduct monthly audit and statistics for UARM Senior Leadership Team; checking daily systems logs.
9. Supervising staff working on Digital Preservation projects and work.
10. Represent UARM within the Digital Preservation Community and research Best Practice in Digital Preservation and Collection digitisation.
11. Develop project and budget proposals relating to Digital Preservation and Digitisation.
12. Conduct the annual DPC Rapid Assessment Model and NDSA Audit.
13. Seeking out continuous improvements as to how we manage Digital Preservation in Unilever and ensure we are using the most efficient methods, for example, assessment of additional tools UARM needs to capture digital archives such as Social media/Website archiving.
14. Support building and maintaining UARM’s public front end/Digital Rewire programme.
15. Advocacy for Digital Preservation and building strong relationships between technical and non-technical colleagues.
