Warehouse Manager Location: Manchester, UK | Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 About the Company A well-established specialist materials supplier is looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee operations at their Manchester facility. The company supplies high-quality industrial products to a range of sectors, including oil & gas, petrochemical, and manufacturing, with a reputation for reliability, safety, and quality. About the Role This is a hands-on role, ideal for a Warehouse Manager with experience handling long, awkward loads and heavy palletised freight. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small team, ensuring safe and efficient operations, and upholding high safety and quality standards. A dedicated warehouse operative handles quality control, but experience in inspection processes would be beneficial. While transport is managed separately, the Warehouse Manager must ensure that all loading and securement procedures are followed correctly. Key Responsibilities ✅ Oversee and coordinate warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with safety and quality procedures. ✅ Manage the safe movement of long-length materials and heavy freight, ensuring correct lifting techniques and equipment use. ✅ Ensure proper packing and securement of heavy items for palletised shipments, reducing risk during transport. ✅ Conduct Daily Warehouse Talks and uphold health & safety best practices. ✅ Work alongside a quality-focused warehouse operative to ensure all materials meet specifications. ✅ Lead, train, and motivate a warehouse team of three, ensuring productivity and efficiency. ✅ Implement and maintain warehouse best practices and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). What We’re Looking For Proven experience in a Warehouse Manager role within an industrial or heavy materials environment. Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, particularly in handling long/awkward loads and securing heavy freight. Experience in packing and preparing materials for palletised transport, ensuring stability and safety. Exposure to quality control processes is a plus, though full inspections are managed by another team member. Ability to lead and motivate a small team, maintaining a structured and efficient operation. Hands-on approach with strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
