South Lanarkshire Council's Licensing and Registration Section is seeking to recruit a Clerical Assistant to undertake a range of clerical duties associated with the Service.
Can you rise to the challenge of working within a demanding, fast paced environment? The role is varied, you will be required to provide an efficient service, producing general correspondence and documents, updating computer systems, carrying out filing, photocopying, scanning and dealing with stationery orders and internal and external mail in order to support operational staff.
You will require to communicate and present information in a clear and concise manner, including liaising with internal and external customers while dealing with specialist clerical activities in accordance with established procedures and standard
We welcome applications from people who are enthusiastic and motivated and have good keyboard, oral and written communication skills and a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. to provide a comprehensive admin support to our operational colleagues, undertaking a range of clerical tasks.
The successful candidate must have experience of working in a busy office environment undertaking various clerical tasks and working to tight timescales. The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills in order to support the registration of births, deaths and marriages and all licensing activities, including taxis, gaming, short term lets and liquor licenses.
We require candidates to display a commitment to learning and enhancing their understanding and commitment to the role. The ability to work to tight deadlines, together with problem solving, team working and first class communication skills are essential.
