Job Description
An exceptional opportunity presents itself for a Senior Events Manager to join the Sales & Marketing Department at Raffles London at the OWO.
Reporting into the Director of Events, you will sell and plan high-profile corporate and social events at Raffles London and deliver exceptional service. You will assume full responsibility for the smooth running of your events and guide your clients through the event planning process with care and attention, ensuring that every element is thought of and that they have an excellent experience with Raffles London. You will develop strong relationships with your clients to encourage repeat business and be proactive in developing new business. There is also the opportunity to contribute to projects to strengthen the positioning of the events department as required.
Desired start date: January 2025.
Specifically, as the Senior Events Manager, your responsibilities will include:
* To sell and plan events, including taking initial enquiries, preparing proposals, sending contracts, negotiating pricing, preparing event orders, planning, and executing events to the highest level in line with Raffles London standards.
* To work with corporate accounts for much of the time but to sell and plan social events on occasion.
* To be present at the event, providing a smooth link for the client to the operations team and supporting the seamless running of the event for the client.
* To build up a portfolio of regular clients and encourage repeat business.
* To develop new events business and take proactive action to do so.
* To conduct site visits and entertain guests.
* To accurately forecast for all events that you manage and keep all bookings up to date while following Raffles standards when using Delphi.fdc.
* To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of event trends and think innovatively to create and offer new and exciting event experiences at Raffles London.
* Additional responsibilities in the absence of the line manager or senior employee.
* Perform other duties as required or assigned, including working in a different department or restaurant than usually assigned.
Who are we looking for?
* A proven track record and ability to provide high levels of service under pressure.
* Exceptional communication and customer service skills, both written and spoken.
* An understanding and willingness to contribute to a 24h operational schedule when required.
* Recent experience in event management in a similar role.
* A good understanding of revenue management and guidelines to maximize event profit.
* Market knowledge of competitors and event industry trends.
* Strong food and beverage knowledge.
* Enthusiasm and commitment to delivering the best events possible in any situation.
* Able to work within a team.
* Detail-oriented.
