Bookkeeper/Accounts Manager Location: Greater Manchester Hours: 30-40 hours per week, plus 4 full days (8:00 AM - 5:30 PM) during month-end Salary: (approximately £30,000-£35,000 DOE) Bonus: Based on KPIs after the trial period Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bookkeeper/Accounts Manager to oversee our day-to-day accounting processes using Sage 50. Having a proven background of tax and VAT, accounting and Sage 50, with a strong understanding of purchase order systems. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting to HQ. Key Responsibilities: General Accounting Duties: Filing and data inputting. Processing purchase orders and invoicing. Updating the purchase ledger. Handling general accounts queries from customers and suppliers. Keeping all client information up to date and current. Reconciliation and Payments: Reconciling bank accounts. Chasing statements and managing supplier payments. Handling credit applications. Ledger Management: Closing the sales ledger by the 2nd of each month. Closing the purchase ledger by the 4th of each month. Managing the purchase order system. Credit Control: Chasing payments on a weekly basis to ensure cash flow targets are met. VAT and Reporting: Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns. Providing monthly and weekly reports to management. Payroll: Processing monthly payroll on Sage. Additional Duties: Managing the Euro account. Ensuring compliance with internal procedures and deadlines. Required Experience and Skills: Proven background in accounting. Proven background with Sage 50. Proficient in using purchase order systems. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
