Job Summary
Somerbys are seeking a detail-oriented, self-sufficient and proactive Payroll Assistant/Senior to join our Payroll team, with opportunities for progression for the right individual. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and contribute to the overall efficiency of our payroll department. This position requires a strong understanding of payroll, backed up with experience of working as part of a payroll processing team. Experience of using Sage Payroll would be preferred.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Perform data entry tasks related to payroll, including hours worked, deductions, and bonuses.
* Utilise Sage Payroll for processing and reporting.
* Assist clients to ensure compliance with Auto Enrolment and dealing with pension calculations and submissions.
* Communicating with clients to resolve issues and dealing with questions and queries raised.
Experience
* Previous experience in a payroll role within an accountancy practice preferred.
* Experience of Sage Payroll preferred.
* Proficient in using Excel.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills are essential for success in this role.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing individual responsibilities effectively.
* Good communication skills.
