The Division of Medicine and Outpatients at Wythenshawe Hospital have an exciting opportunity as a Matron.
The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical leadership across the Division and help to deliver excellent patient care.
As a key member of the Senior Nursing Team, working under the professional direction of the Lead Nurse for The Division of Medicine and Outpatients, the Matron will be responsible for the implementation of National and corresponding local Nursing Strategy.
Specifically, this means delivering the complex agenda as defined by the Matrons Charter, the NHS Institute’s ‘High Impact Actions’ and other National/Local guidance and policies, adopting a highly visible and accessible approach for patients, leading by example in empowering and developing staff to undertake a greater range of clinical activities in order to modernise and improve patient care.
Responsible for managing the nursing teams, clinical leadership, infection prevention and control and standards of patient care.

To undertake this challenging role you will need to have extensive experience in leading and managing nursing teams within an acute setting. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
The successful candidate will be pro-active, have a proven track record of quality improvement and will ensure that service needs and patient experience are met to the high standards we aspire to.
