At Randstad, we are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to children with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the best possible learning experience in a primary school within the Leeds area.

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Provide one:to:one and small group support for students with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
* Assist the teacher in delivering lessons, adapting materials to meet individual learning needs.
* Use behaviour management strategies to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
* Encourage students to develop independence, confidence, and social skills.
* Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and external specialists to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
* Support students with emotional regulation and well:being through positive reinforcement.
* Assist with personal care needs where necessary, ensuring the dignity and comfort of students.
* Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents to support each childs development.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children with special educational needs in a school setting.
* Eligible to work in the UK without any restrictions (No Sponsorship).
* Knowledge of SEN strategies, including autism:friendly approaches and sensory support techniques.
* Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures in an educational environment.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students.
* Possess an Enhanced DBS or willingness to get one through Randstad.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists.
* Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic classroom setting.
* A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
* An Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
