The Birmingham office opened in 2015 and has a number of practice areas including Corporate/Commercial, Disputes, Finance and Real Estate, as well as our Legal Delivery Centre and Business teams. The office has recently trebled in size and moved into a new fitted out space in the Colmore Building. Department Description The London Finance function comprises of approximately 70 staff. The primary departments are Billing, Business Control, Cashiers, Partners Matters, Salaries, Financial Analysis, Financial Systems and Reporting. The department is responsible for handling all financial matters in respect of the London Office and the co-ordination of financial affairs in the international offices. The Cashiers Team is responsible for the maintenance and reconciliation of the firm's client and office bank accounts, SRA Accounts Rules compliance, processing of incoming bill payments and client account transactions. Role Overview The job holder will be responsible for maintaining transactions in the firm's client and office account cashiering function and ensuring that the proper processes are followed to ensure SRA Accounts Rules & AML compliance. Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities The main duties of the position are: Prompt recording and allocation of bill receipts received from the firm's clients. Prompt identification of client money received into the office account and liaising with partners to ensure that the necessary steps are carried out to ensure compliance with SRA Accounts Rules. Providing cover for client account receipts, payments, transfers and interest calculations Dealing with queries relating to client account transactions and balances Person Specification Qualifications and Training Several years legal cashiering experience. Education to an A-Level standard or equivalent, minimum requirement GCSE standard depending on career experience.
