About the role…
We are currently recruiting for a CAD Manager to join our UK design team.
You will have the opportunity to work on challenging and exciting projects designing excellent services and solutions for our wide client base.
Projects will typically include water and wastewater; infrastructure and non-infrastructure works design.
This is a permanent position and will be of a hybrid nature ideally based in or around our Birmingham office; however, we are open to receiving applications from candidates from across the UK to be based at one of our other regional offices or on a remote basis.
What will your day look like…
* Manage and develop our CAD capability, and be our point of contact for advice and guidance on all CAD and BIM related matters.
* Support resource management of the CAD team and develop our internal CAD standards and ways of working for use within the business.
* Manage the technical quality of the CAD team output.
* Provide guidance on best methods and practices to meet technical and project requirements.
* Support the Design Manager, project Design Leads and other team members in undertaking a wide range of design related tasks.
* Undertake CAD design, and modelling activities using Autodesk Civil 2D and 3D or other third party software packages where appropriate (ie. Autodesk Revit, Navisworks).
* Train our teams on CAD matters including leading our CAD working group.
* Liaise with Clients on technical matters and maintain a strong working relationship.
* Assist with the production of project documentation, and reports.
* Where required assess tender and project requirements from a CAD perspective and prepare fee estimates.
* Contribute to the business development process and produce technical content for PQQ and Tenders.
About you…
* HNC/HND in Engineering, or relevant discipline (or a similar approved qualification).
* Computer literate and conversant with Autodesk Civil 2D, associated 3rd party packages, and MS Office suite.
* Basic project management understanding in a multi-disciplinary project environment.
* Experience in managing CAD standard and technical outputs for multiple team members.
* Understanding of civil design activities in a multi-disciplinary project environment.
* Conversant with Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks and Revit.
