Automation Developer and Validation Engineer
Irlam, Manchester
The Automation Developer and Validation Engineer will work within a cross-functional team on new product development and research and development projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Integrating/configuring and developing system solutions which include automation and robotics equipment.
2. Configure hardware and software to complete various verification tests at device level including sub-assemblies.
3. Carrying out various tests from component level to full system life cycle tests to help assess their reliability and suitability.
4. Serve as the primary technical interface (automation and validation specialist) within a cross-functional development team, providing support to Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Software departments.
5. Support and validate any quality investigations.
6. Work within a team or under their own initiative.
7. Create/maintain engineering documentation of test results for analysis.
8. Define processes and test procedures.
What You Will Do:
1. General supervision of work with assignments that require a thorough and practical knowledge of the technical or business discipline.
2. May be assigned larger projects as part of product development or continuous improvement process.
3. Training will be provided for the right individual.
What You Will Bring:
1. Experience working within an automation industry or similar role.
2. Preferably servo motion control experience but not compulsory as training will be provided.
3. Logical thinking and methodical approach to problem solving.
4. Willingness to learn and tackle new technologies.
5. Excellent PC skills and report writing skills, predominantly in Excel and Word.
6. Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
7. Ability to record actions step by step in order to retrace steps when an issue is found.
8. Proficient with tools, systems, and procedures required by the work.
