Join our dynamic LeicesterCare & Care Technology Team to play a key role in keeping the people of Leicester City Safe.
The overall purpose of the role is to process requests for Care Technology and promote the use of Care Technology, supporting people to live safe and independent lives.
Without Care Technology and LeicesterCare, people may go unsupported for longer than necessary. This can have long-term health and social care consequences for people and may increase the ongoing costs to the Council in supporting their needs thereafter.
The team works from the LeicesterCare Control Centre, on Anstey Lane, offering a 24/7 service to individuals in Leicester City. This is a full-time post working 37 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern, covering 7 days a week.

What you’ll be doing
To rapidly deliver Care Technology equipment and services, the purpose of this job involves assessing and screening Care Technology referrals, maintaining knowledge of the diverse portfolio of Technology solutions, and understanding how various equipment can be used to support people. The role also involves providing guidance to staff and the public in relation to the application of Care Technology and updating the Social Care database and other related IT systems. The post holder will be expected to engage with all key stakeholders including health partners and support with the training of both operational staff, partner agencies, and the public.
The team currently consists of 13 Emergency Control Room Officers (7 full-time and 6 part-time), 4 Technology Enabled Care Officers, 2 Coordinators, 2 Seniors, a Professional Practice Lead, and a Team Leader.
What you’ll need
You will need to be committed to producing work of a high quality, be motivated to learn, have good organisational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy. You must be sensitive to the needs of disadvantaged groups in the provision of services and committed to meeting these needs.
You will need to be able to travel to and/or work anywhere in the city. Being able to keep up to date with legislation, guidelines, new and best practices as they change and train for further skills and qualifications needed as the role develops is essential.
You will need experience of communicating information via presentations and e-mails. You will need experience of maintaining and amending computerised records. You will need to have practical knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation, guidelines, and policy sufficient to give basic advice to support colleagues, staff, the public, external agencies, partners, managers, directors, and the executive.
