The Integrated Protective Security Command (IPS) is responsible for securing the Agency to protect the public. The IPS mission statement is: "Delivering integrated protective security to build a resilient, high-trust Agency able to lead the UK�s fight to cut serious and organised crime."
IPS safeguards the NCA from the full range of security threats that target the Agency, our officers and our assets, to enable the organisation to achieve its operational objectives, both domestically and overseas, with flexibility, agility and integrity. Its officers provide specialist security services to the Agency 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, to mitigate security risks.
Job description
The NCA's Operational Security Team works within the NCA�s Integrated Protective Security Command. Our role is to help protect NCA operations, officers, assets, capability and reputation by providing impartial advice and guidance on security and risk management. �
Job Role�
We are currently looking to recruit a Physical Security Advisor to our team.
Physical Security Advisors set and review protective security standards across the NCA estate. They provide advice that ranges from shaping bespoke solutions at individual or team level, through to designing new NCA policies and working on large, complex estates programmes.
The mitigation of physical security risks typically requires advice on the deployment of specialist security technology, including storage solutions, CCTV, Automated Access Control Systems (AACS), Intruder Detection Systems (IDS), lighting and perimeters. �
***To be considered, you will need to successfully complete DV clearance before commencing the role, and achieve DV STRAP clearance within the first 12 months in post. Applicants must be willing to undergo DV clearance and STRAP induction and be full UK Nationals or Dual Nationals, of whom one component is British may be considered on a case by case basis.***

Main Responsibilities:
As a Physical Security Advisor, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: �
1. Act as a first point of contact to advise colleagues from across the organisation on physical security management.
2. Identify and review security threats, recommending appropriate mitigation.
3. Assess security incidents when they occur, and make recommendations to minimise impact and reduce future risk.�
4. Plan and coordinate compliance visits across the NCA.
5. Draft high quality reports, including for a senior audience, on compliance and other security related inspections.�
6. Create and amend NCA policies; promulgate best practice using a range of communication methods across the organisation.
7. Some travel required to sites throughout the UK (particularly London) with overnight stays as required.
8. Promoting a security and risk management culture in which staff understand and demonstrate the ethos that security behaviours are a responsibility shared by everyone, regardless of role. � �

11. Experience of working in UK Government, military, or law enforcement, assessing and managing physical security threats.
12. Experience of providing security advice in line with Security Policy Framework, and National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) (previously CPNI) processes and guidance.

14. Experience of analysing information from a range of sources.
