We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Inpatient Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Altcourse, a category B prison located in Fazerkley.
HMP Altcourse is a male prison that has a capacity for 1164 inmates that offers rehabilitation, education, and resettlement services. The Inpatient Unit has 14 beds with a mixture of mental and physical health patients.
Hours: 7 day service - 24 hours a day - 37.5 hours per week. 6.45am - 8:15pm, 7.45am - 9:15pm, 7.45pm - 7.15am.
Salary: This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary from £42,091.50 to £48,741 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job:
As a Senior Inpatient Care Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions.
* Shift manage other services on a rotational basis, not just IPU.
* Form part of a senior pool of staff completing complaints, rota management, induction, 1-2-1, HR related incidents.
* Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening.
* Provide outstanding evidence-based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
* Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference.
* Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders and providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within, and feel proud of.
* Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence-based care, and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.

Qualifications required:
* Registered nurse Adult.
* 6 months Senior Nurse experience - Desirable.
* Prison experience - Desirable.
* Ward management experience - Desirable.
* Current professional qualification (NMC).
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development.
* Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Proactive problem-solving skills.
* Motivated as an individual and when working in a team.
