A prominent UK-based engineering firm is seeking an experienced Project Planner to join their team, primarily working from their Warrington office with occasional travel to client sites for live projects. Role Overview
The Project Planner will play an essential role in the successful planning and management of project activities, including coordinating with project managers, tracking progress, and supporting efficient resource allocation. Key responsibilities involve developing project plans, monitoring schedules, and creating progress reports to keep stakeholders informed.
Main Responsibilities
Work with project managers to develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and resource plans.
Build and maintain detailed project schedules using planning software.
Identify project risks and assist in creating mitigation plans.
Assist in project budget and cost estimation activities.
Generate reports on project capacity and forward loading, monitoring any scheduling or resource allocation deviations.
Act as a central point of communication for project teams and clients, ensuring project alignment with goals.
Perform quality checks and provide support for Earned Value Analysis and other performance metrics.
Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project planning, ideally within the construction sector.
Proficiency with project planning tools, such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Familiarity with electrical equipment and control systems (preferred but not essential).
Qualifications
NVQ or SVQ Level 3 preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
