This is a great opportunity to join Eurofins Agro Testing as a Laboratory Technician for our Needham Market site. The purpose of this role is to complete, to the required quality standards, the analysis of samples for a given method using laboratory techniques.
Please note this is a permanent role working 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday 07:00 till 15:00. The training shift for the first few weeks will be Monday to Friday 08:30 till 16:30.
Registration, preparation and analysis of samples as required using the LIMS system.
To carry out forage analysis by NIR and other accompanying analysis. e.g dry matter and crude ash.
Packing and dispatching samples for subcontract analysis, ensuring all samples are thoroughly packaged to prevent damage during transit.
Adhering to documented procedures for all aspects of laboratory work, ensuring that all relevant information concerning samples is recorded, that samples are handled correctly, and that all necessary records and quality data are maintained.
Effective use of external logistics portal for despatching samples.
Reporting and/or calculation of results in accordance with the methods of analysis.
Maintain turnaround time at >95%, ensuring that daily targets are achieved.
Will be required to answer incoming calls and make out- going calls to follow up on customers and must maintain a high level of customer service at all times
Provide a high level of internal and external customer care.
Responsible for ensuring that UK health and safety legislation is maintained and helping to ensure that the working environment is kept in a clean and tidy manner with due attention to the careful maintenance of all laboratory fittings and equipment.
Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.
To assist through operating best practice in order to meet the requirements of the UKAS accreditation standard.
To partake in any developmental training as required in compliance with the Company Standard.
Comply with all relevant Health, Safety and Security Regulations.
Qualifications
Proven track record of taking responsibility and ownership for problems and following them through to resolution.
Previous experience within a laboratory desired but not essential.
Good administration skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
