Job Title: Distribution Centre Operative (Late Shift)
Location: Slough
Reports to: Night Shift Supervisor
Hours of Work: 40- hour week (Additional hours may be required)
Sunday - Thursday 3pm - 12pm
During busy periods hours may be 5pm- 2am
Moving vans around the yard - A full UK MANUAL driving licence is essential
The business views the Operations and Customer Services Departments as key planks in its continuing growth; to be successful we must provide outstanding customer service every day and for every delivery.
Purpose of the Role: To provide support to the Distribution Centre Supervisors and the Distribution Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out order processing via the SAP /PMX System from answer machine and emailed orders.
Picking of consolidated orders accurately against picking notes using HHT's ensuring FIFO system, including frozen product.
Check third party picked orders against Delivery Notes while loading vehicles, according to company procedure.
Loading of company vehicles in drop order in a professional timely manner ensuring the load will remain secure in transit and drivers have easy access to customer orders for delivery, including frozen product.
Packing of frozen product using dry ice (where appropriate) to ensure appropriate temperature is maintained during delivery in non-refrigerated vehicles.
Moving and parking company vehicles within the yard safely to facilitate loading and easy egress for drivers.
Constant restocking of primary picking locations to ensure sufficient stock for order picking using FIFO system.
Carry out regular stock checks as part of the stock monitoring process
Carry out labelling & re-labelling of goods when required
Ensure the Goods In / Dispatch area is kept as clear as possible at all times, especially at the end of the Shift.
At all times ensure the Warehouse and related areas (inside & out) are kept clean & tidy, paying particular attention to trip hazards and be aware of Health & Safety for both yourself and others, reporting anything with the potential to cause an accident or harm.
Essential requirements:
Full UK Driving Licence
Comfortable talking to customers
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to carry out both written and verbal instruction quickly & accurately
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work and relate to people at all levels
Positive, can-do attitude Desirable requirements:
Current Fork/Reach Truck Licence preferred.
Experience of SAP or similar stock control systems
Ability to work well unsupervised & prioritise work loads
Numeracy & Literacy (English)
Flexible can do attitude to cope with constantly changing priorities.
Great team player willing to help others achieve targets.
