We are now looking for an experienced Tool Maker to join a team of skilled professionals and support the continued growth and success of their operations.
About the Role
As a Tool Maker, you will play a critical role in producing and maintaining high-precision tooling used across manufacturing operations. You'll be hands-on in the Toolroom, utilising your machining skills and working to high standards to meet production demands.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operate a wide range of machinery within the Toolroom.
2. Manufacture extrusion, mould, and finish dies from raw material.
3. Produce single-stage clip tools.
4. Perform surface grinding, manual milling, and turning.
5. Polish components to a grain 320 finish standard.
6. Carry out manual compensation bench work.
7. Service and repair tooling (PPM) and respond to breakdowns.
What We're Looking For
1. Apprentice-trained or time-served Toolmaker, or hands-on experience in a toolroom environment.
2. Experience in heavy manufacturing, preferably within aerospace but other industries are welcomed.
3. Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
4. Confident using precision measuring tools (micrometres, height gauges, etc.) in both imperial and metric formats.
5. A self-starter who takes ownership, works well independently, and has a proactive approach to problem-solving.
