This is a great opportunity for those working in Human Resources who wish to advance their career in Local Government. You will provide support, advice and guidance in a wide remit of generalist duties including HR casework, employee relations, organisational change, health & wellbeing and more in a dynamic Human Resource Operations Team.
\n
You will build positive working relationships with managers across the organisation, providing advice and support on the application of the Council’s HR policies, procedures, terms and conditions. Strong and positive engagement is a central element in helping to foster, productive relationships with leaders, managers, employees, TU officials, external partners in providing an excellent service.
\n
You will be confident working on your own initiative, but also recognise the importance of effective team working.
\n
You should hold a Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management, or equivalent i.e. CIPD Level 5 (SCQF 9) and be a member or be working towards full Membership of CIPD.
\n
You should have previous experience in a similar role dealing with all types of employee relations and be able to demonstrate a track record of successfully applying relevant HR best practice to support managers.

Vetting by Disclosure Scotland

If you work in regulated work (children and/or protected adults) you will be subject to obtaining a satisfactory PVG. A small number of posts require a Standard or Basic Disclosure check and the majority of all other posts will complete a Criminal Convictions Form. All disclosure checks are obtained via Disclosure Scotland. If you are the successful candidate you will be required to pay the cost of the disclosure check required for your post.

Regulatory Bodies

If your post requires registration with a Regulatory Body such as HCPC or SSSC etc., you are required to obtain and maintain registration including paying any fees for HCPC. As part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are no longer required to pay SSSC fees.
