Key Responsibilities:

Cardiac Diagnostic Testing: Perform a wide range of diagnostic cardiac tests, including ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and Holter monitoring. Ensure all tests are performed in line with clinical protocols and quality standards.

Interpretation and Reporting: Analyze and interpret test results accurately and provide clear, comprehensive reports for the multidisciplinary team. Identify abnormalities or significant findings and communicate these promptly to senior clinicians.

Patient Assessment: Conduct pre-test assessments of patients, including obtaining detailed medical histories and explaining test procedures. Ensure patients are fully informed about the tests they will undergo and provide reassurance as necessary.

Treatment Planning and Management: Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans based on diagnostic results. Provide advice and support to patients regarding lifestyle changes, medication, and interventions for managing cardiac conditions.

Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration: Work closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients with cardiovascular conditions. Contribute to patient management discussions and provide clinical expertise on diagnostic results.

Patient Education and Support: Educate patients about their cardiac health and treatment options. Provide advice on improving heart health through lifestyle changes, including diet, exercise, and smoking cessation. Offer emotional support to patients facing cardiovascular conditions.

Clinical Supervision and Training: Supervise junior staff, including Band 5/6 Cardiac Physiologists, healthcare assistants, and students. Provide mentorship, clinical support, and guidance to ensure high standards of care and practice.

Quality Control and Safety: Ensure all diagnostic equipment is regularly maintained, calibrated, and in good working condition. Adhere to infection control protocols and clinical safety standards. Follow health and safety guidelines in all aspects of patient care and service delivery.

Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements. Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Research and Service Development: Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and service development projects. Keep up to date with advancements in cardiac physiology and contribute to the development of evidence-based practice
