Colposcopy & Hysteroscopy is a very busy department where we care for women who need further examination following a smear test and women who experience Post-Menopausal Bleeding.
The department is open Monday to Friday with some Saturdays.
This will be a varied role working in both Colposcopy & Hysteroscopy within our team of clinicians, CNS, Nurses & Allied Health Care Professionals.
We pride ourselves on being responsive, empathetic, and flexible in continuing to develop the services offered to women.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong interest in Women's Health. You will be eager to learn and have an interest in Gynaecology and Women's Health.
The post holder will be a clinically based nurse who will support and strengthen the nursing contribution to patients & service users within the department.
Main duties of the job
1. To deliver high quality, safe, compassionate patient-centered care that respects and maintains dignity at all times for ladies undergoing Outpatient Colposcopy or Hysteroscopy.
2. To facilitate efficient and effective care and communication between the patient and their care providers and to act as patient advocate at all times.
3. To contribute to practice development within the clinical setting and work in accordance with the trusts values, policies, and guidelines.
4. Complete any work-based training associated with the role.

QUALIFICATIONS
* Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC register.
KNOWLEDGE & NATURE OF EXPERIENCE
* Recent experience of working in an Acute Secondary care setting.
* Experience of working independently and in a team.
* Sound understanding of professional nurses' accountability.
* Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and ongoing professional development/Competence.
* Demonstrate an ability to assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate patient care.
* Ability to identify your own learning needs.
PROFESSIONAL / MANAGERIAL / SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE
* Demonstrate achievement of Numeracy and literacy skills.
* Understanding of NMC Code of Conduct.
* Ability to challenge existing practice and initiate change.
* Understanding principles of safeguarding.
