Fast pace medium size Trading company based in High Wycombe HP12 4JD is looking to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper and Payroll individual with a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in this field. We are an online retailer selling on Amazon.

An ideal candidate will be well-versed in bookkeeping tasks (e.g., sales & purchase ledgers, bank & credit card reconciliations, VAT, monthly management accounts, year-end returns on Sage Line 50, etc.). You will also be able to prepare the monthly payroll for around 10 staff.


You will be responsible for the following:

1. Managing Accounts on Sage Line 50.
2. Management and maintenance of the Company accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
3. VAT Returns, sales and purchase invoice processing/posting, and balancing accounts by reconciling entries.
4. Raising purchase orders and matching supplier invoices.
5. Maintenance of a general ledger/cash position.
6. Posting transactions to correct nominal codes to ensure legal requirements are complied with.
7. Running reports on Sage Line 50.
8. Liaising and building relations with internal and external stakeholders.
9. Managing accounts payable and receivable.
10. Managing profit and loss statements and balance sheets, running monthly & management accounts.
11. Bank reconciliations.
12. Preparing information for auditors.
13. Providing administrative support as needed.
14. Running Payroll on Sage 50.

Skills and Qualifications Needed:

1. At least 3 - 5 years practical bookkeeping experience with relevant Financial Qualification.
2. Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
3. Experience of using Sage Line 50 and payroll is essential.
4. Excellent communication and time management skills.
5. Flexible approach to support with ad hoc tasks.
6. Well-spoken English with excellent communication skills to handle people at all levels.
7. Advanced Excel skills are essential.
8. Able to maintain confidentiality and deal with issues sensitively.
9. Ability to prioritize and manage workload.
10. Proven interpersonal and communication skills.
11. Ability to use own initiative with a flexible approach.

Requirement of service: 8 to 12 hours per week.

Hourly Rate: £18 - £20 depending upon experience.
