An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Engineering Department for an experienced, highly motivated, and skilled Programme Area Manager. Applicants are invited from educational department and course management backgrounds within Further Education.
Applicants would ideally be able to deliver a selection of Engineering subjects, but applicants from other subject areas with digital and maths knowledge would be considered.
The successful applicant will manage programmes across a range of full-time, part-time and HE to students typically studying at levels 1 to 3, and levels 4 to 5.
We are looking for an individual with strong digital skills, analytical critical thinking skills, and the ability to deliver rapid curriculum change.
The Programme Area Manager (PAM) role will include working closely with the Director of Curriculum and the wider department management and teaching team. The PAM will manage and monitor programmes, and plan programmes to maximise resources, funding and learner outcomes.
The PAM will be responsible for programmes of learning, ensuring learner progress is tracked and maintained on College IT systems, retention/achievement levels are maintained and improved in line with college targets. As part of continuous improvement, the PAM will develop and implement systems/processes and other improvements to support the management of learning.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a track record of managing and delivering high quality teaching and learning within the FE sector, along with experience of developing course provision. Knowledge of IV processes is essential, together with the ability to appraise courses using a range of quality and performance indicators.

You must hold:
1. Level 2 in English and Maths (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above, or equivalent)
2. Be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a STEM subject (science, technology, engineering and maths)
3. Hold a full teaching qualification at level 5 or above
