Due to our continued growth and success, we are looking for two Quality Assurance Technicians to join the Technical team in our Gluten Freedom Bakery (LL13 9UG). These particular vacancies are night shifts; we can be flexible with your working hours, whether that be the 4 on 4 off shift pattern - 17:45pm to 06:00am, Monday to Thursday 12 hour nights, or Monday to Friday 8 hour night shifts. What would you be doing?
As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will be directly contributing to our vision of being the “Go-to” supplier of bakery products. Your core tasks and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Ensuring that all raw materials and finished products are to specification, including carrying out relevant on-line quality checks, daily QAS checks, and Taste Panels.
2. Ensuring that processes and procedures are being complied with at all times across the site, including challenging non-conforming practices where identified.
3. Carrying out GMP Audits as per the schedule and reporting them promptly to the relevant departmental manager, recording your findings, actions, and points scored.
4. Following up to ensure issues have been resolved and closed out adequately and communicating any graphs or significant trends to relevant staff.
5. Lab Sampling - Take required samples, swabs, water, etc. according to the schedule and send for appropriate analyses. Review completed results with the Quality Manager and take any measures that may be required.
6. Carry out CCP verification, scale checks, and any other daily or weekly monitoring, e.g., temperatures of refrigerators, Titrations, etc. Ensure that all checks are carried out at the appropriate time and that if any ‘reading’ is out of range, appropriate action is taken immediately.

What skills and qualifications would you need?
1. Previous experience working as a Quality Assurance Technician in a food manufacturing environment.
2. Confident working with computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
3. Self-organised, motivated, and able to prioritise work.
4. Knowledge and understanding of a Bakery operation and the quality requirements of both the business and the customer.
5. Internal Auditor Certified.
6. Level 2 HACCP Certified.
7. Experience working within a Bakery manufacturing environment.
