A fantastic opportunity has arisen to take on a leadership and clinical role, where your skills and innovation will really make a difference to The Riverside Practice. We are looking for an experienced practice nurse with proven leadership and Practice Nurse clinical skills. You will be responsible for the development, assessment, and day-to-day running of the nursing team in conjunction with your clinical duties.
Main duties of the job
Summary of Management Duties
1. Allocate, coordinate, monitor and assess the work of the nursing team and individuals.
2. Ensure that the necessary nurse clinics are appropriately staffed and organised.
3. Develop a working environment that promotes healthy, safe and effective work outcomes.
4. Manage the day-to-day running of the nursing team.
5. Lead the nursing team meetings and attend monthly meetings with practice manager and senior receptionist.
6. Offer and provide clinical supervision to other members of the practice nursing team and act as a clinical 'expert', referring to other members of the team or GPs as required.
7. Monitor and advise on the effective use of physical and financial resources by the practice nursing team.
8. Recruit and select staff to meet the health and well-being needs of the practice population.
9. Supervise and assess staff performance and development. Perform appraisals with HR manager/ GP as appropriate.
10. Mentor, develop and support the nursing team as required.
The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse.
About us
The Practice is based in March, Cambridgeshire. We have two GP partners, 1 Salaried GP, 1 ANP, 1 Nurse practitioner and a team of Nurses, Nurse Associates and HCAs. We are a learning organisation and currently have 1 trainee GP, 1 Trainee ANP and a newly qualified nurse starting in September.

* Post graduate diploma or degree in Chronic Disease Management
* Completed or working towards formal infection prevention and control training
* Family planning qualification

* Experience of working in a primary care environment
* Experience of leading a nursing team in a primary care environment
* Experience of chronic disease management
* Experience of working autonomously
* Experience of working as a practice nurse or community nurse
* Experience of infection prevention and control measures
* Experience of quality initiatives, i.e. benchmarking
