Job summary The interview date for this role is 12th April 2025. To provide diagnostic support to the ENT Consultants by performing a wide range of routine and non-routine hearing/balance tests to school age children/adults/elderly patients. Interpreting results and report writing as required. To assess the needs of patients with hearing, vestibular, tinnitus and clarity problems, and to provide appropriate treatment, counseling, advice and instrumentation as required. To provide follow-up support to check on progress and to alter the care plan where needed. To provide information, counseling and support for hearing impaired patients and their family/carers on a wide range of hearing related issues and to refer on to other professionals when needed. To provide a Newborn Hearing Screening test for all Barnsley babies and to provide complex diagnostic follow-up testing for any baby referred from the screen. To offer a high standard of training placement for BSc Audiology students from the Leeds BSc courses and to comply with the Universitys regulations with regards to Clinical Supervision. Main duties of the job To perform routineand non-routine diagnostic hearing tests on children and adults referred either from ENT or directly by the GP. To provide digitally programmed hearing aids for adult patients and carry out routine hearing aid repairs. Assist the Specialist Practitioners in performing complex and non-routine balance, tinnitus and neonatal testing and assist with the provision of vestibular rehabilitation to patients referred from ENT.
